DayTradingSoftware

TradeZella alternative for traders who want the scan and the journal together

TradeZella is a modern trading journal known for its clean reports and replay based backtesting. DayTradingSoftware adds what a journal alone does not cover: a real-time scanner and alerts during the session, with each trade remembering the scan state at entry so your review can show which scans are worth your time.

Why traders choose TradeZella

TradeZella combines a journal with broker import, detailed performance reports, playbooks for documenting setups and a replay mode that lets traders step through historical price action to practise and backtest by hand. It also has educational content and a community around it.

It does not offer a live market scanner. Finding the stocks to trade still happens in another tool.

  • Journal with reports and playbooks.
  • Replay based backtesting and practice.
  • Education and community.
  • No live scanner or scan alerts.

When TradeZella fits you better

If you learn best by replaying charts candle by candle and want to practise entries manually, TradeZella's replay is a strong reason to choose it. It can also be the better pick if you trade several asset classes, want playbook templates and education in the same product, or already have a scanner and only need a journal.

Live scanning during the session

DayTradingSoftware runs a real-time stock scanner for US stocks: premarket gappers from 4:00 ET, top gainers, relative volume, new highs, halts and momentum change in 1 or 5 minutes, with custom filters for price, float, volume, gap %, RVOL, change %, ATR and sector. Trading alerts fire on scan results, price levels, RVOL and VWAP crosses.

Rule based backtests instead of replay

Our backtesting software tests simple written rules on historical intraday data: entry on gap %, RVOL, premarket high break or VWAP, then a stop, a target and a time exit. It is quick for checking an idea across hundreds of days, while replay is better for practising execution. Both have limits, and a backtest is never a promise of future results.

Scan context in every journal entry

Trades taken from your scans store gap %, RVOL, float and time at entry. Analytics by setup, hour, weekday, price, float and hold time then show expectancy, profit factor, max drawdown and average R for each scan, not only for each tag.
